At the core of the mission is the opportunity to exchange knowledge and find potential collaboration with local developers that obtained parts of the >5GW of projects licensed so far. The second international industry delegation completely focused on renewable energy to visit Iran.
By bringing together local Iranian license and PPA holders with the international community international developers, IPPs and suppliers can find scale in this market.
Last October Solarplaza broke ground in Iran, with an international renewable energy business delegation, thus being the first international event for Renewable Energy market development in Iran, offering first-hand insights and tools to build succesfull business cases in the prolific market Iran presents.
It brought together experienced and highly capable RE companies from across the globe; from Japan to South Africa, from India to Europe. The trade mission consisted of 4 days of content driven meetings and workshops, that offered a platform to discuss and debate the strengths and weaknesses in the market with renewable energy industry peers.
Key topics, or points of debate were those of tax regulation; possibilities for payment guarantees; VAT and its impact on financing schemes; and the custom duties relevant for RE projects.
